In the redesign of the new main entrance for the Austrian parliament extra care had to be taken to ensure the existing building was respected.
The new entrance situation represents an interconnection between historical fabric and contemporary architecture. The additional doors in the ramp generate directionality, making possible an easy to follow and stimulating series of spaces.
A two storey space creates a visual connection between various uses.

For the transfer of information media terminals were installed, which can easily be used by visitors with out requiring prior knowledge of the system. The daylight concept, developed by Bartenbach Lichtlabor, blurs transitions and creates a friendly atmosphere.
